Alumni

After working with IAE, these folks have gone on to a variety of different positions, including graduate school, working with the Oregon Department of Transportation and Bureau of Land Management, working for the Corvallis School District, managing Cornell University's natural areas, working as a biologist for private consulting firms, and pursuing non-biology careers, including journalism and art!

Former Employees

Karin Rohland is the most recent employee to leave us. Karin received her B.S. in Botany from Oregon State University in 2001. After seven years working as a botanist (several of those with IAE), Karin is now back in school pursuing a career in acupuncture and herbalism.

Interns

Our 2007 intern crew:

Laila Bryant, Conservation Research Intern.  After spending a year in Costa Rica Laila will return to Reed College to finish her degree.

Ryan Sheean, Conservation Research Intern.  Ryan came to IAE after graduating from the the University of Oregon and working for the Forest Service.  He continues to pursue field positions.

Jim Steitz , Conservation Research Intern.  In addition to working in with IAE, Jim has worked for a number environmental advocacy organizations.    Visit web.mac.com/jimsteitz for some of Jim's pictures from IAE project sites and elsewhere.

Lisa Wiess, Native Seed Network Intern. Lisa received her B.S. in botany from the University of Vermont in 2006 and then spent a season working on an organic farm in upstate New York.  Lisa has stayed on to work on several different projects with IAE.

Josh Lambert, Native Seed Network Intern. Josh is a graduate student at Oregon State University currently working on a Professional Master’s of Science through the Botany &  Plant Pathology Dept with an emphasis on applied systematics. 

Ted Hart, Native Seed Network Intern. Ted completed a B.A. (Teaching) and a B.S. at the Evergreen State College and a M.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife at Oregon State University. His interests have now moved to wetland ecology as he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. at Portland State University in Environmental Sciences.
