Mission

The mission of the Institute for Applied Ecology is to conserve native ecosystems through restoration, research and education.

  • We provide a service to public and private agencies and individuals by developing and communicating information on ecosystems, species, and effective management strategies.
  • Restoration of habitats is a primary focus, and we conduct this work through partnerships with a diverse group of agencies, organizations and the private sector.
  • We link our community with habitats through education and outreach.

Please contact us if you have any questions or wish to form a partnership.

Overheard

"Volunteers are the backbone, heart, and soul of the restoration movement. And whatever the eventual results of their labors may be, working to revive damaged ecosystems is transforming and strengthening their relationship with the rest of nature."

-William K. Stevens, Miracle Under the Oaks
